Annual Classroom Events

• Field Trip to Whitman Mission and Walla Walla Historical Museum.

• Buddy Class field trip to Pumpkin Patch.

• Friends and Family Luncheon

• Field Trip to Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, Bonneville Dam Fish Hatchery, and Multnomah Falls.

During the year, students will focus on the following:

  • Pre-Algebra: Statistics, Proportional Reasoning, Fractions, Linear Equations, Functions, Geometry and Measurement or Algebra 1 based on students’ individual level.

  • Geology, DNA genetics, Evolution, Properties of matter and the periodic table.

  • Develop complex writing strategies applying punctuation, grammar, and syntax skills, while critiquing their own and other’s writing.

  • Folk tales, mythology, and historical fiction come alive for seventh graders as they read novels, short stories, and poetry.  Emphasis is focused on reading fluency and comprehension. Through in-depth reading, students learn to analyze literature and make connections between the events in a book and those in their own lives.  These works serve as inspiration for the students to become storytellers and write their own original folk tales and myths.

  • The history of the State of Washington is presented from the time of the first European explorers to the Pacific Northwest through the present day. Topics including Native American Tribes, Lewis and Clark, State Geography, Economics, Government, and more are covered in depth over the course of the year.

  • Jesus’ Teachings and His Life.
