Known for his achievements on the field as a Washington State University football player and now with the Seattle Seahawks, Abe brings a powerful message of faith, perseverance, and dedication that will inspire.

About Abe Lucas:
Abe Lucas, an offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks, is not only a formidable presence on the football field but also a devout Catholic. His faith plays a central role in his life, shaping his actions and priorities. Lucas is living his childhood dream as an offensive tackle. However, it is his faith, not football, that takes precedence. He describes himself as a “hard-core Catholic,” and his relationship with Jesus Christ is his focal point. Lucas’ devotion to his Catholic faith is evident in his daily practices: he never misses weekend Mass, attends weekday Mass whenever possible, and openly discusses his faith in the locker room.
Abe Lucas embodies perseverance and determination both on and off the field. After battling through pain and undergoing knee surgery during the 2024 offseason, Abe’s unwavering commitment to his team fueled his remarkable comeback by Week 11. His courage and resilience earned him the prestigious 2024 Ed Block Courage Award, celebrating his strength in overcoming adversity. Abe’s journey from Washington State University football player standout to NFL star is a testament to his hard work, faith, and dedication to his dreams.

Community Involvement
Since entering the NFL, Abraham has participated in My Cause My Cleats, a campaign in which players can shine a spotlight on foundations that resonate with them. The devout Catholic has supported St. Vincent De Paul for two consecutive years, funneling fan donations and national recognition to the foundation. Every year in June, Lucas hosts the “League Advantage Youth Football Camp,” a free day full of fun and football for elementary-aged boys and girls in the Everett area.
